Hi Everyone,

Thanks for visiting my website! My name is Alessandro Stanciu, please call me Alex. It's much shorter. Some of you may be wondering where I am from because the name is different. Well, my mother is Italian, from Salerno, on the Amalfi Coast, and my father is Romanian, from a small town about an hour away from Bucharest, which is the capitol. I was born in Romania, moved to Italy, and then to the United States when I was five years old. My family now lives in Chicago.

I have always been interested in travel and different languages and cultures. I have also had the tremendous opportunity to travel and stay in many parts of the world. I can speak Romanian, Italian, English, some Spanish, and a little Japanese. I like studying Japanese and trying to use the new words I learn. I know what it feels like to study a foreign language, and I firmly believe that you must make yourself practice speaking if you really want to improve. It feels great when you can communicate successfully with someone in another language! A new language can open your eyes to a much bigger world.

I enjoy living in Japan very much. I have lived and taught English in Japan for several years, both at public schools and privately. For the past two years I have been living and working in Chicago, but returned to Japan recently because I firmly agree with Smith’s approach to teaching English in Japan. I believe that our model is the best because it truly creates a value-for-value relationship between the teacher and the student.
